Ebensburg PA Old Prison Building Tour

 

 

A tour of the old prison in Ebensburg was part of the Ebensburg Charles Dickens theme Christmas weekend. The old prison is now used to store land and court records. We saw records from the 1800s stored in there! Criminals and even debtors were housed here. It was kind of scary! There was no charge to get in and the tour was self guided. You could walk into the old cells and rooms and explore the entire prison except for the basement.
 
 
We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Altoona. While everything met my basic expectations the one thing that stood out was the web connection in the room and the friendliness of the cleaning staff. This was the first place I have stayed in months that had a decent web connection and the cleaning staff was cordial and openly friendly!
